Sandy.. has all the characteristics of an early American bear, possibly 1920’s.  He is 23” tall, fully jointed, with short, soft bristly mohair in a lovely orange shade – lovely to the touch!  Sandy is woodwool-filled, with original felt pawpads (a few small holes), and he’s only missing one claw.  His glass eyes look too shiny to be original, but his facial stitching is all his own.  His right ear has been re-attached in the past, but this is common in the “slot-in” type of ear.  Sandy is wearing a vintage seersucker outfit of shirt and dungarees, with two of his favourite badges, topping the outfit with a jaunty wool beret!
