Douglas is an impressive chap, measuring 25” tall.  We think he is probably French, from around the 1950’s.  Douglas is very well stuffed with woodwool, and has rod-jointed arms and legs; his head is not jointed.  His synthetic plush feels very like mohair, and is a light orangey colour, slightly faded on his front.  His fur coverage is excellent, we can’t find any bare patches, and his beige paw pads are also made of the same material.  Douglas has 3 brown claw stitches on his arm pads, and 4 brown claw stitches on his feet.  He has clear plastic eyes with black centres; the clear rims are a little mottled with age.  His nose and mouth stitching is brown to match his claws.  Alas, Douglas has only one ear (hence his name!), so he likes to wear a cap to hide this little “imperfection”.  Douglas will arrive wearing his cap, cardigan and jeans – a trendy fellow!
